Recommendations

We hold prenatal specific classes and workshops at different times throughout the year, but here are the classes on our regular class schedule that our many expectant moms have benefitted from:

 

 

Gentle Beginners

This therapeutic class is tailored for those who would like to slow down, de-stress, and heal whether it be from an illness or injury, or simply from the stresses of daily life. Through the guided use of props (such as bolsters, blocks and straps) this slow paced class focuses on creating structural balance and health through postures that build strength and flexibility combined with breathing techniques that help to calm and focus the mind.

Aligned Flow® Beginners

Saturday at 10am with Christy Linson

This is an active class and is recommended for those expectant moms who have had a yoga practice prior to becoming pregnant.

Aligned Flow combines the therapeutic Iyengar inspired alignment combined with the heat build flowing-with-the-breath sequencing of Vinyasa. Classes include asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), and meditation. Beginner yoga is suitable for both the first time student and any student interested in becoming further rooted in the basics of yoga. Each class is a breath centered blend of poses aimed toward opening channels in the body through proper alignment. The actions in each pose are ones that can be translated into any yoga class, enhancing and building the student's understanding of more challenging poses.

Each of these teachers is well prepared to support you and offer you modifications as your baby grows!

*Please let the teacher know before class starts that you are expecting and how far along you are in your pregnancy so they can best support you in your practice!
