Gentle/Restorative
A therapeutic and soothing approach to the yoga practice. Meditative, with a focus on utilizing various breathing techniques, the practitioner learns to gently open the body. This class is appropriate for those that are new to yoga, seniors and those returning from injury or with chronic illness.
Beginner
This class is for those that are just getting started or the experienced practitioner looking to refine their skills. Basic asanas (poses) focusing on alignment and breath are featured and an understanding of basic yoga philosophy will also be introduced.
Mixed Level Beginner
This class is appropriate for all levels. Fundamentals of alignment and pranayama techniques will be explored allowing the practitioner to deepen their practice. Again, basic yoga philosophy will be introduced.
Mixed Level Beginner/Intermediate
This class is appropriate for those with some yoga experience. Creative emphasis on postural sequencing and pranayama . Class moves at a moderate pace preparing the practitioner to move towards an intermediate level practice. The class will consist of Sun Salutations, standing and seated poses, as well as back bending and inversions.
Intermediate
A series of flowing vinyasa sequences linking breath and movement to create heat. The class moves at a vigorous pace through standing poses, arm balances, back bending and inversions. A variety of pranayama techniques are also practiced. Prior yoga experience necessary.
